The Netherlands home of Jane Schouten, is a testament to her skills as a graphic designer and artist – with stools recovered with embroidered vintage blankets, thriftmarket frames and a great mix of styles from different eras. Jane sells re-styled and re-worked furniture and design objects through her site – alltheluckintheworld.nl, which also showcases more of her artwork – as does her Flickr, including a fantastic take on a Christmas tree.
The Hiver 09/10 collection from French accessories designer, Claire Pain, is a modern take on turn-of-the-century jewelry. Named Mamie (Grandma) Lucette, the collection includes lace collar necklaces of bronze, wood and acrylic, and pet portrait pendants re-using Limoges porcelain.
Montreal photography student, Arden Wray, shot the Fall and Winter 09/10 lookbook for Victoire Boutique. Focusing primarily on Canadian designers, as well as mixing in a select few American designers, Victoire Boutique stocks N.E.E.T.’s favorites Norwegian Wood and Supayana, alongside Nokomis, out of Edmonton, Alberta, and Brookyln-based Mociun – and sells online for those who can’t make it to the Ottawan bricks-and-mortar store…
