We’re loving the work of Brit photographer, Gemma Booth. Adept at telling stories and creating fairytales through her work, her images make us want to crowdsurf at a festival, wear a feathered headdress in a back garden, or just hang out in sequins, in a field, with a llama…

We’re loving Bright Pirate‘s collection of clothing and accessories, all created from repurposed and resourced materials. Fishing hooks become delicate necklaces, a scrap of leather is recycled into an earring, and vintage silk scraps are turned into a patchwork pillow – all available in the Bright Pirate Etsy shop…

butter LONDON was started by British ex-pat Sasha Muir in a bid to create colour without chemicals. All nail products are ’3 Free’, meaning ‘No Formaldehyde, No toluene, and No DBP (Phthales). Ever.’
Named after British slang (the butter LONDON site even includes a helpful dictionary for all the non-Brits!), and in a whole rainbow of hues; our favourites from the range are ‘Fash Pack’ (putty meets mushroom), ‘Cheeky Chops’ (banana yellow), and ‘Big Smoke’ (a metallic navy blue).
Available from www.butterlondon.com and online in the US from www.b-glowing.com
Keller NY featured in Issue #016, and Brooklyn designer Kelly Clark is back with the Spring/Summer collection of clothes and shoes. Giving a modern twist to fabrics reminiscent of the Little House on the Prairie, the collection includes leather lace-ups, ditsy print trousers, and cotton button-down dresses. A true “antidote to fashion excess”…

Amy Renee York, the owner of Canadian boutique Nouvelle Nouvelle, shared her local shopping secrets as part of the ‘Girl About Town’ section in the current issue of N.E.E.T.. Here she gives the lowdown on more Vancouver-based designers…

Mono is designed by Heather Martin. Each piece is either handcrafted in her gastown studio or locally produced. She uses lace, felting, hand dying and unexpected silhouettes to incredible effect.

Body chains made from gunmetal and vintage sourced chains. One day of boredom in Paris (and a perpetual love for crafting) would soon evolve into a small jewelry line called The Woodland. With materials sourced from Paris to Portland, each piece is hand-crafted and made one-of-a-kind to give every piece distinctive character and worldly charm.

One of a kind recyled leather bags. Designer Randi Obenauer’s weakness for exquisite hand detailing, true quality craftsmanship and her love of garments that tell stories, lead her to rescue the most unlikely of leather cast-offs only to reincarnate them as one of a kind luxury bags.

Designer Amy Sky’s first collection debuted in Fall 2009. The line is about collaboration and making clothing as an expression.

We’re loving these bold tees, dresses and scarves, with geometric prints inspired by African art and craft. Handmade in Brooklyn NY by designer Mary Meyer, they’re currently all on sale on the site!
