    The Clothes Horse Rebecca Roe

Rebecca Roe, aka The Clothes Horse, 23, lives in Fort Lewis, Washington and is a fulltime blogger over at theclothes.blogspot.com

    Who are your style icons?

I really admire the style of Sofia Coppola in her sartorial choices and in her films. I also love Anna Dello Russo’s style – more people should wear looks directly from the runway! And Faye Dunaway’s character in Bonnie and Cylde has my ideal wardrobe.

How would you describe your style?

    Quirky, whimsical, and feminine.

    What inspires you?

Everything; I like looking at other bloggers, but I’m also largely influenced by old movies and my surroundings.

    The Clothes Horse Rebecca Roe

Your favorite item in your wardrobe?

A dress that Neneee (neneee.com) and I collaborated on; it’s split right down the middle featuring two different brocades.

How would you describe your blog?

My blog is an artistic personal style blog; I capture my daily outfits in the wilderness near where I live and I’m just as likely to post on illustrators, Romantic poets, and graffiti as I am on runway collections.

What are your fashion plans for this summer?

This summer I’m playing with unusual lengths (for me) and vintage fascinators. I find summer looks are all about the accessories, so finding interesting ones is the current goal. I’m actually trying to experiment this summer.  A few items I’m into: flower crowns, sheer black blouses, nude heels, socks with sandals and oxfords (cool weather in WA makes layering possible all year long), mixed prints, gold jewelry (mostly rings and double finger rings), colorschemes of berry, navy, black, and matte, bright red lipstick. I want to try lots of new looks this summer!

    Selective Potential Blogger

Tieka Dierolf, 23, from Grand Haven, MI, is a freelance designer, office manager and blogger over at selectivepotential.blogspot.com

    Who are your style icons?

I absolutely adore Tennessee Thomas (and the other girls from The Like) style-wise. They are so classic! I also love Zooey Deschanel, Diane Kruger and Rachel Bilson. Especially their street-style. I feel like all of them combine feminine with an edge and all have vintage inspired style. Definitely something I strive for!

How would you describe your style?

I’d say I’m very girly with feminine florals, but with a rocker edge. I love mixing the two looks! But I’d definitely say I fit to match my surroundings. A ship tour? I’m dressed nautically. A picnic in a field? I’m dressed in florals. A downtown concert? I’m in lace up boots and a lace dress. It all depends!

    Selective Potential Blogger

    What inspires you?

Definitely the seasons. I feel like in each season my style changes to fit whatever my surroundings are! It’s so fun to see my fall looks, compared to my winter looks to my spring looks. It’s like a new person emerges each season but each season has elements of each other. I’m also really inspired by old photographs, movies and other bloggers just like me.

    Selective Potential Blogger

Your favorite item in your wardrobe?

I adore my new Jeffrey Campbell splendid sandals. I feel like they could be dressed up so many ways – in so many different styles. Plus the combination of black and brown is my favorite color mix.

How would you describe your blog?

Selective Potential is a place where I talk all about my own personal style, my marriage, trips we take, adventures we have and I also talk a lot about Michigan. I like to show people how amazing any place can be if you make the most of it!

What are your fashion plans for this summer?

I plan on living in a skater summer dress, Rayban Wayfarer style sunglasses, lugging around a canvas tote, with 70 SPF sunscreen, cut off jean shorts, panama black ribboned hat and a vintage inspired high rise bottom bathing suit.  It gets so hot and muggy here in Michigan in the summers, so any type of free dress, protection from the sun and a tote to carry around my beach towel and necessities – it’s all I need!

    Local Shopping Secrets:

I absolutely love Scavenger Hunt located in downtown Grand Rapids. They carry a ton of vintage tees, leather coats, rocker-inspired pieces.: Scavenger Hunt, 117 S. Division St, Grand Rapids, MI 49503

    Online Shopping Secrets:

My favorite online vintage store is Bleubird Vintage. She carries so many amazing pieces and really puts a lot of styling into her shoots – so you can see how the vintage pieces can be styled up!

    athoughtistheblossom.blogspot.com

    Age: 24
    Location: Little Rock, Arizona

Style Icons: Of course I adore everyone’s favorites (Alexa Chung, Zooey D., Kirsten), but I think most of what influences my style has more to do with someone’s perspective than their actual outfit. I guess my two favorites there are Ellen Von Unwerth and Leith Clark. They both deliver such playful and romantic energy, Ellen with her videos and Leith with her magazine, that I often find myself dressing as a character in their worlds.
How would you describe your style:
My style is girlie and vintage with quirky touches, usually inspired by a story or character from my childhood. I’ve got a serious love for light and romantic Southern dresses, trench coats (in every color), and playful 60′s minis, and I’m a bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to matching my accessories.

    What inspires you?
My inspiration is constantly changing with the seasons and with age, but right now I’m really into art history. I enjoy the visual timelines I get everytime I go to class, and I love seeing all the things the came before us. I’m inspired by short films, music, photographs, words, pretty much anything that can evoke a feeling. I guess the one thing I enjoy most and am constantly inspired by is other peoples’ stories. There’s something about the human connection and tales from the past that make me feel free and allow my imagination to roam.

Your favorite item in your wardrobe?
I think the best piece I have in my closet is a 1950′s sailor dress I picked up at a local vintage shop last summer for $50. I’m usually pretty cheap, but this dress was so incredibly rare and one of the best sailor dresses I’d ever seen that I swooped it up without even thinking twice. I only got to wear it two times before the summer ended, so I’ve been looking forward to warmer temperatures so I can finally give it the attention it deserves.

How would you describe your blog?
I use my blog as a visual diary of my life. I don’t restrict it to just fashion and trends, instead I try to incorporate things from my historic town and other experiences I’m going through in my life – thoughts, feelings, aspirations – usually expressed in the form of pictures. If I’m known for one thing it’s my thriftstore obsession, and I always enjoy sharing different thriftstore and estate sale tips. Uncovering the world of blogging was the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s forced me to get creative and productive and has allowed me to discover a world of friends and a whole new me.

    Local Shopping Secrets:
I’ve got a few hometown favorites that actually influenced my vintage style in its early stages, and luckily, some of them have Etsy stores.

Magpie & Birdie (always has the best vintage pieces some with handsewn details and others that have been completely reconstructed)
Lakey Kristian (the most beautiful handmade flapper headpieces)
