Jenny Gordy is the lady behind Wiksten, and she designs and creates some of my favorite handmade apparel ever. The Chambray Ikat Sundress below is a perfect example of her aesthetic and, frankly, her awesomeness. Ok ok, so it might look like I am tooting my own horn but I couldn’t resist sharing this. A few weeks ago, Angela (from Leeloo) and myself put on a little exhibition DisBand, featuring 16 Australian artists as well as a fancy little mid-century installation. All the artists created new works based on the theme of “break ups” and the installation (created by us) represented the apartment of a couple undergoing a break-up.

While the theme may have been a little depressing, the opening night was full of smiles and excitement. Don’t feel too sad that you missed the opening, some of the originals are still available for sale online at Leeloo.com.au!

The design of Love & Toast has a very loose, bright, spontaneous and very “now” look – full of bright colors, simple iconography and a nod to the ‘80’s – and the fragrances are super fun too: gin blossom, honey coconut and sugar grapefruit.

Love & Toast has not only beautifully designed natural beauty products – it’s also environmentally friendly. Almost all of the Love & Toast packaging is recyclable, the paperboard is made from annually renewable and sustainable resources, and Margot Elena chose to use vegetable ink because it has proven to be most kind to our eco system as it is derived from a wide variety of sustainable crops.
